How to organize a garage sale in ten easy steps

1. Promote your sale at local grocery stores and in the local newspaper. State the place, time, date and some of the key items you intend to sale.

 3. Clean out anything that is useless, sell even the stuff you consider trash. You would be surprised how many people will consider it goldmine.

 4. Take into consideration the items that are currently in big demand: homemade items, dishes, jewelry, baseball cards, comic books, old-fashioned bonnets, camping articles, lawn mowers, old books, guns, needlework etc.

 5. Organize the stuff you will be selling so that shoppers are able to easily sort through items.

 6. Pay attention to labels and packaging. Just because you have priced your items does not mean there won't be any haggling.

 7. Involve the whole family. You will need at least one or two people to help you sell create an enthusiastic mood around your yard.

 8. Be nice to your customers find out what items interest them and advertise your next garage sale.

 9. Make sure you dispose of the leftovers one way or another. You can have the remaining clutter carted away and delivered to your local charity.

 10. Take your family on a vacation. You definitely deserve one.
